Papyrus
When we think of the papyrus plant, we think of a paper surface for writing and illustration. This vital and natural resource also has a vast amount of uses for everyday life in ancient Egypt.
It was not only used for medicine, food and rope; papyrus was also used to weave sandals, baskets, drinking vessels, webbing for beds, floor mats, curtains and a variety of other textiles.
This collection is inspired by the extensive benefits of this essential plant. Browns and sage colors are used depicting the leaves and stalk when they are laid out to dry in the sun, and textures of soft and complex mingled curves and shy amounts of shimmer are revealed using threads of gold and silver metallic throughout the designs.
