Construction Types
Tufting
A popular type of carpet manufacturing that produces cut or loop yarn tufts sewn through a backing material. Standard tufting produces a carpet with regular linear placement of color.
Woven
The original carpet construction that is part of Mohawk’s history of time-honored, crafted carpet. Woven construction involves traditional looms that lock the face yarns into place, creating a very durable construction that is coveted for its architectural look. Mohawk is proud to still be providing woven carpet, where new generations are discovering its clean designs and soft hand.
Pattern Perfect Tufting
Mohawk Group’s Pattern Perfect tufting technique produces textured pattern with non-linear color placement, creating precise patterns and textures with up to 4 colors and is available in all loop or tip-sheared constructions.
Computer Yarn Placement (CYP)
CYP provides patterning in any scale with a level cut and loop construction. Computer yarn placement allows up to 6 colors to create intricate pattern for more defined flooring designs.
Precision Dye Injection (PDI)
PDI technology allows for high-definition designs for broadloom or carpet tile with infinite pattern capabilities and customization using up to 12 colors.
Synthesis
Synthesis is a patented carpet technology from Mohawk Group that lets designers combine texture and pattern to create a unique layering effect within broadloom and carpet tile. By combining a Synthesis textured base and precision dye injection (PDI) technology, intricate textural designs using up to 12 colors are possible making unique statement flooring designs.
Definity
Definity’s custom, sculpting tuft technology creates stunning carpets and rugs for commercial interiors with incredible multilevel cut and loop textures, using up to 12 precision placed colors.
