MycoTexture | Transfiguration
Taking Root is Mohawk Group’s latest biophilic commercial LVT collection that draws inspiration from the connection to nature and the grown world. The collection features three unique styles that embody comfort and abstraction, with design elements inspired by mycelium growth, mushroom structures, and spalted maple wood.
Zone Lines is a style in the Taking Root collection that was inspired by spalted maple wood. Spalting is a natural process that occurs when mycelium networks grow inside of the wood.
MycoBiome | Biotope
Below the earth’s surface are vast webs of mycelium—thread-like structures that distribute nutrients among plants and recycle matter into new sources of life. We encounter mycelium mainly through their fruiting bodies, mushrooms—an incredible source of food, medicine, and beauty in their own right. Above and Below pays tribute to mycelium and mushrooms, inspired by their power to connect and sustain our world.

Wild Dyer celebrates the unexpected gifts we find in the humble mushroom. Not only nourishing our bodies and healing us with medicinal properties, mushrooms can also create colorful dyes. We steeped a variety of species to extract their pigments and were inspired by the broad palette that was revealed. In its quiet, hidden way, nature is a wild dyer.
Color is like music: it carries you into a different frame of mind, sparking new emotions and inspiring deeper connections to your world. With Chromatic Cadence, we are inspired by the work of artist Yvette and her use of music as a starting point for her expressive, color-filled paintings. The Chromatic Cadence modular carpet collection imagines color as melody, creating a tonal rhythm across the floor and inviting flights of imagination or meditative calm.
