Pantone 2022 Color of the Year

Pantone 2022 Color of the Year

The new Pantone color of the year has been announced for 2022: Very Peri (17-3938). Pantone is a company that provides a universal language of color across all design and artistic industries.

This shade of periwinkle is fitting for a world that is both natural and digital, as it appears effortlessly in both realms with a pop of optimism. Acknowledging our challenging two years amidst a global pandemic, Very Peri offers a sense of hope and idealism for a new positive future. This hue ignites our creativity and anticipation of possibilities. The future will be hybrid – a mix of physical and digital (we call that Phygital) – with CGI, AI, augmented reality and the new Metaverse all mixing with real-life experiences.

In their announcement, Leatrice Eiseman of Pantone wrote “As we move into a world of unprecedented change, the selection of Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri brings a novel perspective and vision of the trusted and beloved blue color family, encompassing the qualities of the blues, yet at the same time with its violet-red undertone, Very Peri displays a spritely, joyous attitude and dynamic presence that encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expressions.”

At Mohawk Group, we have been exploring Phygital design in what we call the Visual Age, a new era where there is visual literacy and creative democracy for all in the time of social media. We have this color in our yarn bank, which contributes to the products listed below:
