How long have you been working in the Industry?
3 years

What territory do you currently cover?
West Michigan

What is your earliest memory that motivated you to pursue a design career?
My transient upbringing and travels have influenced my artistic ideas as I explored the details of form and color in the gardens from my childhood. In the harmonious chaos of nature, I looked for repetition, composition and celebration. Imitating the playfulness of lively patterns around me was a starting point to new ideas, which became my source book of design. What inspires you professionally?
Art! In art I have found the most natural way to express myself. It allows me to represent nature creatively by constantly revealing something new to respond to.

What is your favorite aspect of your job?
My work allows me to observe and absorb the alchemy between art and design. I love that I can transform my hand painted illustrations into designs that serve functionality.

What's been your design process when you develop the Infuse 017 collection for Durkan?
I was encouraged to go back to my canvas and integrate artistic activism with the wellbeing of the environment. I wanted to reflect the beautiful alchemy in nature using intricacy of layers and textures in each design. Blending the layers with highly energetic colors of street art created by exciting diversity of artistic expression. I have laid significant emphasis on exploring the physical character of paint and Inks to evoke expressive qualities such as dynamism and energy.

When you are short on inspiration how do you reenergize; where do you go for inspiration?
Textile and art movements of history.

What made you decide to showcase the trend/designs that you selected?
This collection is a result of my experiments with inks and bleach on paper. I was inspired by the details of forms and color in the ocean which became a conscious starting point to paint some artworks and see how they get translated to designs that work for interiors.

When you are short on inspiration how do you reenergize; where do you go for inspiration?
When I find myself having a creative block, I always turn to Art history archives. It gives me a new perspective and inspires me to design with a different outlook.
